Iris Yankelevich opens a small practice in Queens with one mission: mental health care in Spanish for New York's immigrant community.

2000s

Growing with the community

YES expands to serve 450+ NYC schools with student programs. The team grows to 6 languages. Iris publishes Padres de Hoy.

2010s

Two offices, one heart

A second location opens in Manhattan. Media appearances on Univision and Telemundo. Corporate and community programs launch.

We have two locations: Manhattan (55 E 52nd St, Suite 1200) and Queens (94-38 60th Ave, Suite A3, Elmhurst). Both offices offer in-person and telehealth options.

Individual sessions are $150. With insurance, you only pay your co-pay. We also offer sliding scale fees for those who qualify — no one is turned away.

Our team speaks English, Spanish, Hebrew, Portuguese, Hindi, and Chinese. We provide therapy in your language — not just translation.

Yes. We offer specialized therapy for children and adolescents, including ADHD, anxiety, behavioral challenges, bullying, identity, and bicultural adaptation.

Individual, couples, family, group, child & adolescent, trauma/PTSD, ADHD, and teletherapy. We use CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, interpersonal, play therapy, and humanistic approaches.

Meet the Founder

Iris Yankelevich, LCSW

Iris is the founder of YES Psychotherapy Services — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, speaker, author, and internationally recognized expert in parenting skills, family relationships, and immigrant family support. For more than 30 years, she has helped individuals, parents, children, adolescents, and families across New York navigate emotional, cultural, and relational challenges.

She has trained and studied internationally, including at NYU, the University of Buenos Aires, and Hebrew University, and has served as a professor at CUNY Lehman College and St. John's University.

Iris was the founder of "School for Parents," a parenting program present in more than 300 NYC public schools since 1993.

YES Psychotherapy Services provided "Project Liberty" to 80 NYC public schools — a program created to mitigate the emotional effects of the September 11 terrorist attack, offering psychological services to parents, teachers, and students from kindergarten to 8th grade.
